Daughter of the land

She speaks against the poppy farmers,
To save our brothers from the drugs,
She is not scared of the bullies, rich and powerful ones,
And why should she?
She has the blessings of our ancestors,
She has our love,
She is the daughter of the land,
Wake up people,
Together we can,
Turn these poppy fields to fields of paddy, fruits and vegetables,
Food to nurture and heal our people.
I paint my feelings and emotions. Every brush stroke I take for the view gets me closer towards love, peace and healing. It has always left me empowered. I want to share these feelings with you. This painting is inspired by Thounaojam Brinda for speaking up against the poppy farmers, the rich and powerful to save the community from the drug crisis in Manipur.
