his painting is inspired by the Shirui Lily blooming in my birthplace Manipur. It is a rare species blooming between mid May to mid June, found only in the upper reaches of the Shirui hill ranges in the Ukhrul district of Manipur, India. Many from far and near trek to this sacred mountain, the Shirui Kashong Peak to get a glimpse of this beauty; some secretly whisper their wish with the belief that the wish gets fulfilled when shared with this flower.

This is a painting inspired by a beautiful statue at Govinda temple in my birthplace at Imphal, Manipur, India. As a child I was very fascinated by this beautiful statue guarding the entrance of the main temple. It has always brought out the inner child in me and a big happy smile to many.

Inspired by Maryland First Lady Yumi Hogan. I thought about how diversity can bring humans together. She was critical in getting 500K test kits from South Korea during the early days of COVID for the people of Maryland.
