Painting: Sunset

September 2, 2021 by Monica Ingudam

A beautiful view of the temple from my car driving at 495 freeway. Everytime I see the temple I know home is near, bringing me a great feeling after a long drive.

Painting: Memories

August 28, 2021 by Monica Ingudam

Plein air at Brookside gardens, Maryland. I was walking around to decide on what to paint. Should I paint the rose garden or white water lily or the gazebo ? So many beautiful spot, and this spot suddenly overwhelmed me with memories of my father’s visit in this garden. And here we stopped to take a picture, and today I sat here painting in memory of him 💗

Painting: Inner Voice

May 2, 2021 by Monica Ingudam

Inspired by the blue color (color of throat chakra) of this beautiful flow Aprajita, a flower I grew up watching in my mother’s garden. When the throat chakra is in balance, we speak, listen, and express ourselves openly and authentically. When out of balance, we ignore our inner voice, feel afraid of expressing ourselves.

Painting: Shirui lily of Manipur

April 20, 2021 by Monica Ingudam

Inspiration: This painting is inspired by the Shirui Lily blooming in my birthplace Manipur. It is a rare species blooming between mid May to mid June, found only in the upper reaches of the Shirui hill ranges in the Ukhrul district of Manipur, India. Many from far and near trek to this sacred mountain, the Shirui Kashong Peak to get a glimpse of this beauty; some secretly whisper their wish with the belief that the wish gets fulfilled when shared with this flower.

Painting: Hope

October 6, 2020 by Monica Ingudam

When you are sinking deep, hitting rock bottom in a dark space feeling worthless and suddenly out of nowhere your mind is filled with the feeling of pure love, beauty and light giving you hope. Yes hope giving you the strength to rise up. Hold on to that hope tightly for you are worth it, so worth it. Yes you are 💗

Painting: Now

October 5, 2020 by Monica Ingudam

Now

My mind was filled with the hurtful words said earlier,
Bringing tears to my eyes.

I looked around,
I see the beautiful sunset,
I see the beautiful cherry blossom,
I see the beautiful Potomac river where John Quincy Adams, the 6th president of USA swam nude,
I see the tall Washington monument in DC.

Most importantly I see love around me,
Gratitude filled my heart,
Bringing me back to Now,
Bringing back my smile.

The power of Now is there for you too 💗
